Originally a log cabin for miners during the Gold Rush era

The Bunk House Lodge opened for business in 1972. It began as a two-room log cabin used by miners during the Breckenridge Gold Rush (circa 1880). In 1962, Rudy Gardner purchased the log cabin with the dream of building and providing a safe place for gay men to come together.

Today, the Bunk House Lodge continues to provide a safe place to stay for the LGBT community. We also provide a safe legal space for guests to enjoy marijuana use. We are hetero-friendly and welcome all guests 21 years of age and up. We offer private rooms, private lofts and a dorm room with bunks.

Our guests have access to a spa bathroom, two large common area living spaces, full kitchen, bar and lounge, and an outdoor courtyard oasis that includes a hot tub. We provide a complimentary continental breakfast and will serve a meal of your choice for an additional fee. The Bunk House Lodge is conveniently located two miles north of Breckenridge, Colorado, on Highway 9 with access to the FREE Summit Stage bus line.
